CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Macariola received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and both her Master’s Degree and her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. For as long as she can remember, she has been interested in the power that our thoughts and behaviors have on our bodies and minds. She is continually intrigued and amazed by the influence of one’s mind on the healing power of the body as well as the human capacity for resilience. As a licensed practicing psychologist for over twenty years, she has found it a privilege to be a part of the transformations she witnesses in the lives of her clients. Dr. Macariola works with adolescents, adults and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders and marital issues. In addition, she has a special interest in Health Psychology and has worked with clients facing a range of medical issues including cancer, seizure disorders, migraines, cardiac disease, hypertension and chronic illnesses. Her approach to therapy is predominantly cognitive behavioral while also focusing on a client’s interpersonal relationships and the innate power of the body to heal.
